After graduating from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Robin Stangland taught band and elementary music in the public schools in Oregon for four years. She played French horn professionally with the Portland Opera Orchestra for seven years. After moving to Washington in 1991, she started the Homeschool Band in this area in 1993, so she could work part time and be home with her kids. She loves to teach and inspire kids in music. She has performed on French horn in the Cascade Symphony, Philharmonia Northwest, Starry Night Orchestra, Skagit Chorale, Sno-King Chorale, Northwest Chorale, and plays trumpet in Seattle Women’s Jazz Orchestra. She has been the French horn coach for the Cascade Youth Symphony, Fidalgo Youth Symphony, and also brass and percussion coach at the Mount Baker Youth Symphony Summer Sounds Camp. She and her husband own and run the North End Jazz Camp. Robin teaches Beginning, Intermediate, Advanced, Intermediate Jazz, and Jazz Combo.

Kevin Hall has worked as a professional in music education and performance for over 25 years. He has taught music in the Everett and Snohomish School Districts, directing jazz bands at Heatherwood Middle School and Glacier Peak High School. He currently is a Director of Jazz for HM Jackson High School and continues to share his passion for music with students through music mentoring and teaching private lessons on trumpet, trombone, baritone, French horn, and tuba in the Mill Creek, Washington area.

A nationally known educator and trumpet player, he served as Program Manager for the largest community music school in the northwest (Musicworks NW) from 1991-2000. Mr. Hall’s music training and background includes attending Olympic and Green River Colleges and pursuing a Bachelor of Arts Education degree at Western Washington University. As an accomplished trumpet player, Kevin has an extensive performance background with jazz and wind ensembles, including leading his own contemporary groups. He is a two time recipient of the prestigious “Outstanding Soloist Award” from the International Association of Jazz Educators.

Kevin spearheads many creative music education projects. He is Festival Director for the Mill Creek and Snohomish Valley Jazz Festivals, which have become premier music events in the Northwest. He also formed and coached a student “Trumpet Octet” which achieved a top honors at the 2009 Washington Music Educators Solo and Ensemble Competition. Kevin teaches Advanced Jazz Band.
